Number of new firms in first half sets new record

VGP - The number of newly-established enterprises in the first half of this year set a new record with 76,233 ones, a year-on-year increase of 13.6 percent, the Ministry of Planning and Investment reported Tuesday.
The total registered capital of new firms was estimated at VND882,122 billion (or US$38 billion), 1.2 times higher than the average figure recorded during the 2017-2021 period.
The numbers of new firms recorded in the capital city of Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City were 14,628 and 22,469, up 9.8 percent and 11.5 percent, respectively.
Remarkably, 40,667 enterprises re-operated in six months, up 55.6 percent.
During the reviewed period, as many as 116,900 enterprises were set up and re-operated.
