Bac Giang to export 1,500 tons of lychees to US
Bac Giang has a total lychee cultivation area of 29,700 hectares this year with an estimated output of over 180,000 tons.

Northern Bac Giang province plans to export 1,500 tons of lychees to the US, according to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade.

The news was revealed at a teleconference the province held on April 26 to promote trade links and the consumption of lychees and other local products of potential in the US this year.

The teleconference connected with the Vietnam Trade Office in the US, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Office in New York, the Vietnamese Entrepreneurs’ Network in the US (VENUSA), and many domestic and foreign enterprises.

Bac Giang has a total lychee cultivation area of 29,700 ha this year with an estimated output of over 180,000 tons. Of this, 205 ha are qualified for exports to the US with an estimated output of 1,500 tons.

As the US is a promising market for Bac Giang, provincial leaders suggested that relevant agencies at the Ministry of Industry and Trade assist with market information, export-import policies, quality certification, food safety and hygiene, and dealing with technical barriers in Europe and the Americas.
