Gilimex Industrial Park construction kicks off
Thua Thien-Hue People's Committee and Gilimex Industrial Park JSC broke ground on the construction of Gilimex Industrial Park in the province’s Huong Thuy town on November 11.
Gilimex Industrial Park (IP) investment development project, developed by Gilimex IP JSC, was approved by a prime ministerial decision in March 2021.
Accordingly, the project would cover over 460ha, with $113 million in total investment, and 20,000 to 30,000 projected employees.
The park enjoys a convenient location only 15km from Hue city, which has abundant human resources, and is only 2km away from Phu Bai International Airport.
Upon the completion of subdivision A, Gilimex IP JSC will proceed instantly with the ground levelling and technical infrastructure construction of subdivision B.
Situated along the National Highway No.1A, the IP is directly connected from Phu Bai International Airport to Hue, the starting point of the East-West Economic Corridor, located 50km from Chan May Port and 80km from Danang Port and city centre.
The project consists of two subdivisions. Subdivision A has achieved 50 per cent of ground levelling and 10 per cent of technical infrastructure construction. It is projected to be completed and handed over to secondary investors in the fourth quarter of this year.

The park aims to attract investors for manufacturing in the fields of electrical and electronic products; computers and optical equipment; spare and auxiliary parts for automobiles; vehicles and transport equipment; paper and paper products, rubber products and plastic; processed food and beverages; leather and related products; dental, orthopaedic and rehabilitation equipment; and other non-metallic mineral products.
