HCMC plans to apply ChatGPT in public services
Nearly half of 1,000 surveyed enterprises have used ChatGPT in their daily operations.
Ho Chi Minh City plans to study the application of ChatGPT to improve the efficiency of public services for businesses and individuals.
The city’s Department of Information and Communications said that a recent survey revealed that 48 per cent of 1,000 respondent enterprises have used ChatGPT in their daily operations.
Department Director Lam Dinh Thang said ChatGPT is useful in supporting the provision of public services or assisting authorized agencies in their daily tasks.
However, he added, its use also poses risks and challenges for State management agencies in preventing incorrect information, data loss, and cyber fraud while maintaining information privacy.
Dr. Vo Van Khang, Vice Chairman of the Southern Information Security Association, presented a solution to curb information leaks, saying it is necessary to first screen the input to remove incorrect information, mostly by requesting information sources for assessment. Then, in the long term, an ecosystem for ChatGPT should be developed for it to truly become an aid.
