New Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade takes office

Addressing ceremony participants, outgoing Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh said that during his tenure, the Ministry of Industry and Trade in particular and the industry and trade sector in general have overcome numerous difficulties and challenges, achieved set targets and even exceeded goals in many areas, creating positive imprints on Vietnam’s industrialization, modernization and international integration.

“I am proud of you comrades. I am proud of the Ministry of Industry and Trade,” said the former minister who was recently appointed as Chairman of the Party Central Committee's Economic Commission. He expressed his deep gratitude to his predecessors and colleagues at the ministry for their support throughout the past 11 years.

The new Chairman of the Party Central Committee's Economic Commission said the commission would accompany the industry and trade sector in general and the Ministry of Industry and Trade in particular in successfully developing this sector and contributing to the development of the Vietnamese economy.

Anh wished his successor Nguyen Hong Dien a successful tenure. Dien, for his part, praised the industry and trade sector’s achievements and significant contributions by his predecessor. Minister Dien promised concerted efforts with all units, officials and workers of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to fulfill the sector’s assignments, writing up a new page in its history.

On February 12, 2021, at a conference held to promote implementation of personnel-related resolutions and decisions of the Party and the State, the new minister affirmed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue bringing into play the tradition of the sector and work with a high sense of responsibility to fulfill its mission, while at the same time striving to overcome shortcomings, accelerating administrative reform and strengthening decentralization.

Bringing into play the tradition and valuable experience of its leaders, strengthening solidarity among its staff, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has successfully fulfilled its tasks, and its efforts have been recognized by the Party, the State and the people.
