State President Vo Van Thuong has praised the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) for promoting the growth of Vietnam’s business community and making important contributions to national economic development.
Speaking at a ceremony in Hanoi on April 26 to mark VCCI’s 60th anniversary, President Thuong asked to Chamber and businesses to make greater efforts to promote the Vietnamese brand in the international market and expand cooperation with international partners.
VCCI President Pham Tan Cong said it will continue with policy activities and play a more active role in perfecting the institutional environment to nurture and develop Vietnamese businesspeople and enterprises.
It will further support businesspeople and enterprises and build a code of ethics for them and promote business culture, helping them position themselves in the international business community, he said.
VCCI now covers more than 200,000 enterprises and over 200 business associations nationwide.
On this occasion, it made public a council of Vietnam’s leading businesses with 21 members, which will work to boost the development of large Vietnamese enterprises, expand cooperation, both domestically and internationally, and uphold the role of leading enterprises in the development of sectors and agencies and in guiding small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
